Team Yokohama Wins IRC 2000cc Class At BangaloreLeads Championship in 2000 CC CategoryBangaluru, 23 November 2015 : Team Yokohama has won the 1st position at the K1000 Rally round 3 of the FMSCI Indian Rally Championship held today for the IRC 2000cc class at Bangalore, Karnataka. Team Yokohama’s Rahul Kanthraj and co-driver Vivek Bhatt, driving Mitsubishi Cedia, have achieved this feat from a large competition of 37 cars that participated. With this win Team Yokohama has now taken the lead in the 2000 cc Category Championships with 1st position wins at Nasik and Coimbatore Rally as well for the current calendar year. Mr. Sanjay Chatterjee, General Manager Sales & Marketing, Yokohama India said “This has been a very good year for us, considering that we launched Team Yokohama for the year 2015 recently. Last year we had a podium finish in almost all the races and this year too we will be at the podium” Participating in the 2000 CC Category, the duo of Rahul Kanthraj & Vivek Bhatt started rallying in the year 2000 and has participated in over 75 rallies. Together they have won 4 Group and National championships and finished runners up on 4 other occasions. Team Yokohama also has Driver – Karna Kadur + Co-Driver Vivek Ponnusamy competing in 1600 CC on a Volkswagen Polo. For Yokohama, Motorsports is today part of its philosophy. The new YCN becomes the 6TH in the state of Maharashtra, for Yokohama India, a fully owned subsidiary of Yokohama Japan.
